Instrument Flying

Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) allow a properly equipped aircraft to be flown under instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) by an instrument rated pilot.

Instrument training is a natural next step after a pilot becomes licensed to fly.

Our club aircraft are all IFR certified.

Our Mission

Portage Municipal Airport (C47)

The Portage Area Flying Club is thrilled to call the Portage Municipal Airport (C47) home.  The airport has recently undergone renovations and more are planned, plus there are plenty of tie-down locations, fuel services and top flight airport management, which makes this is a great airfield to fly.

The Club has a private and secure hangar at C47 for Members exclusive use and we host social events on a monthly basis throughout the year, inviting other hangar owners, pilots and C47 staff to attend.

Our new Cessna 150 is a top-notch aircraft and one of the most affordable flying airplanes ever made.  If you are interested in flying, flight training and great year-round flying, you have come to the right place.

Thanks for stopping by, and we hope you make it a great day by taking to the skies with flying friends, like the PAFC.
